Who Is Not a Candidate for Spinal Decompression?
Spinal decompression is not appropriate for every case of back pain, neck pain, sciatica, or disc degeneration.
Some patients may need closer review, additional imaging, medical clearance, or a different treatment direction before decompression is considered.

Some cases need closer review before spinal decompression is considered.
Closer review or medical clearance may be needed for:
- Prior spine surgery, spinal fusion, or surgical hardware
- Severe or progressive weakness, numbness, or neurological changes
- Advanced degeneration, spinal instability, or fracture concerns
- Symptoms that do not match the imaging or examination findings
- Infection, tumor, inflammatory disease, or other serious medical concerns
- Pregnancy, osteoporosis, or other conditions that may affect treatment safety
This is not a complete exclusion list. Final candidacy depends on the evaluation, imaging history, examination findings, and clinical judgment.
Cases That Need Closer Evaluation
Some patients are not clearly appropriate for decompression on the first review, but that does not automatically rule it out.
In these cases, clearer imaging, diagnostic context, medical history, or a more careful clinical evaluation may be needed before a recommendation can be made.
